Inexperienced participants:
Minimum workload = 16 hours / class

Experienced participants:
Minimum workload = 06 hours / class

Update (Recycling):
Minimum workload = 04 class hours

Update (Recycling): The employer must carry out periodic training Annually and whenever any of the following situations occurs:
a) Change in work procedures, conditions or operations;
b) Event that indicates the need for new training;
c) Return to work for more than ninety days away;
d) Change of company;
e) Change of machinery or equipment.
NR 18.14.2.1 Operators must have completed elementary education and must receive qualification and specific training on the equipment, with a minimum workload of sixteen hours and an annual update with a minimum workload of four hours. Certificate: The Certificate will be issued to each participant who achieves a minimum of 70% (theoretical and practical) in accordance with the Regulatory Standards.

Important:
If necessary, the use of Lifting Machines and Equipment is MANDATORY, immediately before the movement, the performance of:
01 – Preparation of APR (Preliminary Risk Analysis)
02 – Work Permit (PT);
03 – Check PPE and EPCs;
04 – Check the Machine or Equipment Operational and Maintenance Instruction Manual;
04 – Check the Technical Inspection Report of the Equipment and Anchorage Points with ART;
05 – Maintain Equipped Rescue Team;
06 – Safety meeting on the operation with those involved, contemplating the activities that will be developed, the work process, the risks and the protection measures, according to the risk analysis, consigned in a document to be filed containing the legible name and signature of the participants;
a) Visual inspection;
b) Checking the operation of the radio;
c) Confirmation that the signs are known to everyone involved in the operation.
07- The safety meeting must instruct the entire work team, among others involved in the operation, at least about the following dangers:
a) Impact with external structures;
b) Unexpected movement;
c) Fall from a height;
d) Other specifics associated with the lift.

Maritime Transport is a critical infrastructure for the social and economic development of a country. It influences the pace, structure and pattern of development. The Department of Shipping encompasses within its fold shipping and ports sectors which include shipbuilding and ship-repair, major ports, national waterways, and inland water transport. Department of Shipping has been entrusted with the responsibility to formulate policies and programmes on these subjects and their implementation.
Shipbuilding and marine industries are two of the first industrial sectors to have adopted the FSW process for commercial applications. In these industries, FSW is suitable for panels for decks, sides, bulkheads and floors, aluminium extrusions, hulls and superstructures, helicopter landing platforms, offshore accommodation, marine and transport structures, masts and booms in sailing boats, refrigeration plants, etc.
The first commercial application of FSW concerned the manufacture of hollow aluminium panels for deep freezing of fish on fishing boats. These panels are made from FSW aluminium extrusions at SAPA, Sweden. The minimal distortion and high reproducibility make FSW both technically and economically a very attractive method to produce these stiff panels.
New FSW applications in the marine industry have been reported from Japan, where the process is used to produce aluminium honeycomb panels and seawater-resistant panels. The latter are made from five 250 mm wide 5083 aluminium alloy extrusions to make a panel sized 1250 × 5000 mm. They are used for ship cabin walls because of the good flatness of the weld root.

Using FSW to produce the panels mentioned above makes it possible to construct a large catamaran from building blocks, just like a toy boat. All pieces fit perfectly to each other and dimensional accuracy can be mastered to a full degree. Thus, one of the earliest examples of a large product where a lot of FSW was used is the catamaran made by Kvaerner Fjaellstr and using extruded and FSW profiles produced by Hydro Marine Aluminium. This was actually the kick-start for the industrialization of the process.
Another example in this area is the Littoral Combat Ship, the USS Freedom, which was commissioned in 2006. Over 12 miles of FSW have been used to fabricate this giant ship. The welded aluminium panels for the superstructure were fabricated by Friction Stir Link, Inc. and delivered to Marinette Marine for final assembly. The use of the solid-state FSW process has resulted in improved strength and fatigue life, reduced distortion, and a robust and repeatable process at a low cost.
When producing large surfaces such as walls or floors, beside the straightness of the panels, the resulting reflections are also an important issue to consider. A lot of time is spent on polishing and making up surfaces, which are architecturally visible. In FSW prefabricated panels, the reflections are merely caused by the surface appearance of the aluminium plates, not by the reflections caused by welding heat input.
